Rachel Stanton | Contemporary Art
Rachel Stanton is a North Devon based artist whose work captures the raw, elemental energy of the coastline. Inspired by the North Devon Southwest Coast Path, they use expressive mark-making, fluid watercolour, and mixed media techniques to translate the ever-changing light, movement, and untamed beauty of the sea and landscape.
Their work has been featured in House & Garden, World of Interiors, Exmoor Magazine, as well as the South West Coast Path’s Inspired by the Coast series. They have exhibited at The Burton Museum and Art Gallery, The Affordable Art Fair in Battersea, Appledore Book Festival, Devon Open Studios, Turner Now exhibition, and have an upcoming exhibition at The Plough, Torrington. Their work has been published in The Postcard Project and is collected both nationally and internationally.
Additionally, they have been recommended by Muddy Stilettos in their Little Black Book of Businesses, further cementing their place as a distinctive voice in contemporary coastal-inspired art. Their workshops and sketch-walks encourage others to connect with the landscape through mindful, expressive mark-making, fostering both creativity and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
At the heart of their practice is a reverence for the sea and land—a belief that art can inspire awareness, connection, and care for the environment.
